Japan is a country known for people who are able to live long and healthy lives. This country is known to have the longest life expectancy in the world considering the fact that the Japanese live to an average 83 years old, which is a long time compared to many other countries around the world. So how do the Japanese live so long? It is definitely from their way of living and the healthy lifestyle that they have. Here are some of the few ways on how to live like a Japanese.

A Healthy Japanese Family

One of the major things that contribute to the healthy lifestyle of Japanese is their diet, something that everyone would not mind adopting. If you want to avoid heart disease, feel healthy after eating and live a long life then consuming Japanese food is the way to go. Most of their dishes are composed of fish rather than red meat. In general, fish is much more healthier than red meat as fish contains less cholesterol. Another thing is there are less milk, butter and dairy in their diet that also adds a lot of cholesterol to any dish. One thing that is abundant in the Japanese diet is rice, soy and vegetables. Rice is full of nutrients and low in fat while soy is a good source of protein and helps reduce heart disease and high blood pressure. One last thing is that Japanese drink a lot of tea. They drink tea rather than unhealthy beverages such as coffee and sodas.

The second thing that contributes to their healthy lifestyle is walking and standing, the Japanese stand and walk more than the average American. Walking and standing more can replace an hour exercise in the gym. This is much healthier than just sitting or lounging all day. A big number of Japanese people walk, bike and take the train to work. Due to the design of their toilets, they even squat while taking a dump. Also, Japanese tend to go out more and socialize. In general, the more mobile we are, the healthier we get!
